HWC CORE VALUES

We are a people of prayer, a "Prayer Nation" seeking the face of God and moving the hands that move the world. We know that everything we do runs on the track of prayer. We are a people with a passion for praising and worshipping God. We are hungry for his glory, knowing everyone can experience the tangible presence of God and his healing power and we believe the sound of our worship will go around the world.

We are a people with a spirit of faith, building confidence in the hearts of others to trust God. We know that when we believe God and do his will anything is possible.

We are people who love the Holy Spirit; believing he touches, leads, and anoints His people. We delight in his moving in our midst.

We are a giving people. We believe God is good and that he wants to bless and prosper his children that we may be a blessing to others.

We are people building our lives on the Word of God. We know that the Word is key in all we say, do, and believe, infinite in scope, unlimited in power, full of treasure, wisdom, and life.

We are people called to go into the whole world. We lift up our eyes seeing the fields of this world already white unto harvest, and we seek to reach as many people as we can; people of every race, tribe, and tongue.

We are people who believe every person has a Divine Purpose, and that fulfillment comes as That Purpose is being realized. We desire to discover That Purpose and help others do the same.

We are a people of love and compassion. We believe that the greatest thing, in the life of every person, is experiencing the Love of God. And our goal is to love and touch other people, that they may be healed and made whole.

We are relevant, creative people reaching out to our city in unique ways drawing others to the Lord. We know that when we work together in unity, and in God's will, we can accomplish anything.

We are a training and leadership movement, raising up people to lead, plant, and build in every area of society.

DOCTRINAL STATEMENT

-About the Bible

We believe the Bible is the inspired Word of God, written by the hands of men, by the direct guidance of the Holy Spirit. We accept it as our infallible guide in matters pertaining to conduct and doctrine. It is accurate, authoritative and applicable to our everyday lives.
2 Timothy 3:16, 2 Peter 1:22, Matthew 5:18, John 16:12,13

-About God
We believe in one eternal God who is the Creator of all things. He exists in three Persons: God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. He is totally loving and completely holy.
Deuteronomy 6:4, Matthew 28:19, John 15:26, 2 Corinthians 13:14

-About Jesus
We believe the Lord Jesus Christ, as both God and man, is the only One who can reconcile us to God. He was born of the Virgin Mary in order that He might reveal God, lived a sinless and perfect life, died on the cross in our place, and rose again to prove His victory and empower us for life. We believe the Lord Jesus is ascended into Heaven and is now seated at the right hand of God where, as our High Priest, He fulfills the ministry as Representative, Intercessor, and Advocate. We believe Jesus is coming back again as He promised.
John 1:1,2, Luke 1:35, Matthew 1:18, Matthew 25:31, John 19 & 20, Acts 1:9-11, Romans 3:24, 1 Peter 2:24, 1 Peter 4:5, Hebrews 7:25, 1 Thessalonians 4:16,17, 1 Timothy 4:1

-About the Holy Spirit
We believe the Holy Spirit convicts the world of sin. He is the Supernatural Agent of regeneration, baptizing all believers into the body of Christ. We believe that in order to live the holy and fruitful lives that God intends for us, we need to be filled (baptized) with the power of the Holy Spirit which is received subsequent to the new birth. The infilling of the Holy Spirit gives believers power to be witnesses for Jesus Christ and enables us to use spiritual gifts, including speaking in tongues.
Acts 1:4-5, Acts 1:8, Acts 2:4, Acts 10:44-48, Acts 19:1-6, Matthew 3:11, John 14:16,17, John 16:8-11, 2 Corinthians 3:6, Romans 8:9, Ephesians 5:18

-About Man
We believe man is a created being, made in the likeness of God. We believe that through Adam's transgression, sin has entered the world and separated each of us from God and His purpose for our lives. Apart from Jesus, man is spiritually dead and powerless to save himself. Salvation alone is through Jesus becoming a man Himself and dying as our substitute that we can be made alive in all our fullness and union with God.
Romans 5:12, 1 Peter 1:18-19, Genesis 1:26-27, Romans 3:22,23, Romans 5:12, Ephesians 2:8, 1 John 3:8

-About Salvation
We believe God does not desire for any to perish, but that all would be saved, and that our eternal destination of either Heaven or hell is determined by our response to the Lord Jesus Christ. We believe that in order to receive forgiveness and the 'new birth' we must repent of our sins, believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, and submit to His will for our lives. It is by grace, through faith in Jesus Christ that we are saved.
1 John 5:11-12, John 3:16, 2 Corinthians 7:10, Ephesians 2:8-10, Ephesians 1:7, 1 Peter 1:18-19

-About Water Baptism
We believe baptism by immersion in water is a commandment of Jesus Christ for believers only. It is a public representation of the believer's identification with Christ in His death, burial, and resurrection.
Matthew 28:19, Acts 8:36-37, Romans 6:4, Colossians 2:12,

-About Healing
We believe God wants to heal and transform us so we can live healthy and prosperous lives in order to help others more effectively. Physically healing was provided for in the atonement of Christ, and it is to be received through faith, by the laying on of hands, by the anointing with oil, and by the prayer of faith.
Isaiah 53:5, Deuteronomy 7:15, 1 Peter 2:24, James 5:14,15, Mark 16:18, Matthew 8:17

-About the Church
We believe the Church is the Body of Christ made up of all born-again persons. We believe that the establishment and continuance of local churches is clearly taught and defined in New Testament scripture. We believe the Church is God's plan and vessel through which he works His divine will on earth. We believe Christians are to be part of a local church, and the Church is called to minister to the individual, the community, and the world.
