What a great time we had in Honduras. The people were hungry, hungry, hungry for the things of God. The anointing was very strong as the Lord responded to the hunger of the people. I enjoyed watching my interpreter get blasted by the Fire of the Holy Spirit. FUEGO DE DIOS! Thanks to the Walters and all the staff and leadership of Living Waters Teaching Center. As I left to rush to the airport (because I preached too long -imagine that), the warm embrace from many of my new friends overwhelmed me. When they hugged me I realized that I was leaving another piece of my heart in another part of the world.

Florida Trip

Hi- we just returned from Tarpon Springs, Florida. I had a great time with pastor Chris and all of the Klimis family. Everyone was so nice and they really went overboard smothering me with kindness. It was a special time getting to minister in their church and pray for many friends and family. The last night we also ministered in Clearwater, just outside of Tampa. The building we held the meeting in was built in the late 1800’s. We met a special man named Socrates who is called to minister to the beautiful Greek people. Below is a clip of the Klimis family leading worship, Matt is on keyboard and Jason is on drums and Chris’s father is also on guitar. It’s not the greatest video because the room was very dark and I am not as good of a camera man as my son Chris and the other guys we have around HWC. Anyway, they were a very sweet and spiritually hungry people I will not soon forget. Thanks everyone… I will keep you in my heart and prayers.

Ten Cities Mandate

New Church In Corpus Christi


What a joyous time Lucie and I had last Friday in Corpus Christi with our friends Miguel and Norma Santoyo, Pastors of a new church that HWC is going help plant. They will be a sister church and part our family of what we soon hope will be churches from around the world, as a part of the 10 cities mandate. Pastor Miguel has served as an associate pastor with other churches in the area, and they have a great heart to reach out to the children and youth in the city. We prayed, shared vision, and looked at three buildings as a possible location for them to move services which they are now having in their home. This would provide them with a more permanent and public location. So please be in agreement with us that the building need is now met! Very soon they are going to join us on a Sunday morning and we will be able to introduce you to them and you will have an opportunity to greet this wonderful family. Please watch the video from Friday’s meeting if you have not already seen it.

Basic Necessities

Good morning, it is 6:21 a.m. Monday morning and I think I am still wired from another awesome Sunday at HWC. Martha Mott preached last night and it was wonderful to see the Lord touch people. Don’t forget what a powerful week this is going to be with Dodie Osteen at All Nations on Wednesday morning, Jeff Schroder on Wednesday night and the Salem’s on Saturday night and Sunday morning. So be sure and come and bring a friend.

Have you ever thought about the basic necessities of life? There are things, basic things we must have to sustain physical life- like food (ice cream), water, air, light, relationships, and shelter. I want to draw a parallel to basic human spiritual needs of every believer. In John 15:1-8 Jesus showed us how to live incredibly fruitful lives and it all revolves around maintaining our connection to Him, whereby He provides everything you need to sustain not just life, but abundant victorious life. It is also interesting to note that Jesus said in Matt. 6:33 that seeking Him and His kingdom first above your own agenda was the key to the supply of all your physical needs. Anyway, back to staying connected to our life source, Jesus. His Word is like food we have to eat daily to sustain energy and life…and it feeds our heart with faith for the future He has for us. Praise and worship is like water, drinking in His presence and the Holy Spirit springs up out of our bellies with living water. Prayer is like the air we breathe- it is a continual exchange and dialogue between heaven and earth. Prayer fills us with the breath of heaven. His specific will for you is like light… it will cause the seeds of purpose to grow. His unconditional love is the most powerful thing any human being can experience and it is the foundation for every other successful relationship. His Body, the family of God, is like shelter. They accept us, believe in us, cover us, and help us because we are the household of faith.

One last thought…just do the basics. Don’t worry about the deep things- it’s the basic necessities that bring the life you are looking for. It’s the basics that keep us connected.

Starbuck’s Culture

I know that some of you are laughing at the Starbuck’s logo picture. You also may have heard that I preached a message on Wednesday night about Starbuck’s, so I guess I should explain why.
As a leader, I admire what Starbuck’s has acomplished as a forward thinking American company. Wherever I go in the world their products and service are consistant. Their stores are always filled with people enjoying themselves and spending time working or sharing with others and most of all they have convienced us that spending $4.00 dollars for a cup of coffee is not only ok, but it is cool. That also explains their $6,400,000,000.00 (That’s Billion) net annual profits. Which leads me to my first point, which is the importance of knowing your core values. Your core values define everything about you and what and how you do what you do. Core values are the foundation of everything you build your life on. Core values should not change or be compromised for convenience. When people are always looking for something new, they have not discovered their core values. My personal thoughts are that no country, business, or even a church can be successful without the proper values. As Christians our core values must come from God’s Word. That leads me to my second point which is the core values of Houston Worship Centre. I have listed 11 below… maybe you can think of a few more.

1.We are people of prayer, where everything runs on a track of prayer. When we pray it moves the hands that move the world. That’s why we call ourselves a prayer nation who continually seeks the face of God.
2. We are people with a passion for praising and worshipping him. We are a people hungry for His glory, where every person can experience the tangible presence of God and be healed. We believe that the sound of our worship will go around the world.
3. We are a people with a spirit of faith. We want to build confidence in the hearts of people to trust God. When we believe God to do His will, anything is possible.
4. We are people who love the Holy Spirit and believe that He touches, leads, and anoints his people. We want him to move in our midst.
5. We are people who believe that God is good and wants to prosper and bless His children. He blesses us to be a blessing, that’s why we are a giving people.
6. We are people who are building our lives on the Word of God. The Word is key in all that we say, do, and believe. It is infinite in scope and unlimited in power, full of life and unsearchable treasure and wisdom.
7. We are people called to go into the whole world and share with all people the good news. We are lifting up our eyes to see that the fields of this world are already white unto harvest. We want to reach as many people for Jesus as we can. We are a people of every race, tribe, and tongue.
8. We are people who believe that every person has a Divine purpose for their life and that fulfillment comes as we serve that purpose. We are all about getting people in their purpose.
9. We are people of love and compassion. The greatest thing in the life of every person is when they experience the love of God. That is why there is no higher purpose when we come together than to love and touch people and see them healed and made whole.
10. We are relevant creative people REACHing out to our city in unique ways to draw them to the Lord. When we work together in unity we can do anything.
11. We are a training and leadership movement raising up people to lead, plant, and build in every area of society.

Which brings me to my conclusion and final point, that when we all have the same core values, we will have established in our midst our kingdom culture. All of our values are communicated by our culture every time we come together and our culture is preaching to everyone. The more our culture grows, it creates momentum that draws and reaches people across our city and around the world. You may laugh but Starbuck’s illustrates in the natural this principal. They have maintained a consistant culture that now calls to people all over the world everytime they see the green sign.

I just returned from K.L. Malaysia with my good friend Pastor Daniel Cheah. I ministered on prayer from Luke 11:1 where Jesus was praying in a certain place. Jesus had slipped off from his disciples and had found a quiet place to pray. When the disciples saw Jesus caught up in prayer they wanted to experience the dimension of prayer that they saw Jesus enjoying, this was something new to them. There is a place of prayer that belongs to all of us. To be effective in your prayer life you must discover a higher place in the spirit, in the heart and face of God. To achieve this prayer life will require a genuine determination to seek after it and grow as the Lord leads you. He still teaches his deciples to pray.

The church responded wonderfully to the messages and a real hunger to pray was released. Pastor Daniel bought everyone cookie jars to put words and promises they received in prayer. Instead of a piggy bank it is a prayer bank.
